A Dolphinbacks Realization and Lullaby
By Tara
I sleep soundly
Because of the crescent horn
Filled with the moon in its
Stony, cracked facade,
Commanding daunting presence.
No smiling shadows
Of glimmering teeth and
Stealthy movement
Haunt innocent dreams,
Because of knowing,
Sure feet and attentive eyes.
They have known the sands of beaches
They have seen the new washed ashore
They have comforted the dolphin's saved.
Now, feeling the rise and fall
Of breath in deep chest
So like the ebb and flow of tides,
I know that life may exist
Far from that home I once knew;
In between eight curving horns I see the same stars.
